Your vagina goes through a lot during childbirth, but perineal massage in the last four to six weeks of pregnancy can help make delivery and recovery a bit easier. Also called birth canal widening, this process of massaging the perineal muscles (or pelvic floor muscles) at the opening of the vagina can help the muscles stretch more easily as the baby’s head passes through the birth canal (a.k.a. your vagina) during childbirth. This can help prevent tearing of the perineum and reduces the need for an episiotomy or an instrument-assisted delivery (with forceps or vacuum). Plus, pelvic floor recovery is generally quicker if you don’t experience tears or require surgical incisions, like an episiotomy.

The KR Curve helps you reach the opening of the vagina with little effort.
